Projects

We operate three major projects focused on HR and recruitment information:

Canada's Top 100 Employers

Published annually since 2000, the Canada's Top 100 Employers project is a national competition that recognizes the employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces and progressive human resource policies. Each year, our editors speak with thousands of employers across Canada to determine which organizations offer the most forward-thinking HR initiatives. The winners are announced each November in a special magazine published in The Globe and Mail and online at Eluta.ca. The competition is unique in that our editors publish detailed reasons for selection, explaining why each winner is chosen – making these reasons public ensures transparency in the selection of winners and raises the bar for other employers interested in improving their workplace policies. Employers complete a single application to be considered for our national competition, plus 19 popular special-interest and regional competitions:

The editors also publish an annual guide for recent graduates, The Career Directory, which lets young people match their degree or diploma with progressive employers that frequently hire in their field.

The largest Canadian job search engine, Eluta.ca lets job-seekers find new job postings directly from employers' websites. Launched in 2006, Eluta.ca provides a high quality job search experience, with more than 100,000 current direct-employer positions across Canada – no agency or 3rd party postings are included. The search engine includes detailed employer reviews and star ratings drawn from Mediacorp's editorial work on the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. Eluta.ca also offers Advanced Search features, email job alerts and a popular mobile version. Last year, the site had over 7.6 million unique visitors, who performed 46.7 million job searches.

Canada's largest annual event for HR decision-makers, the Top Employer Summit is the editorial conference for the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. Each year, all the writers and organizers involved in the project meet to present the best stories they have found in the past year and to discuss the key themes for next year's competition. Held alternately in Toronto and Vancouver, the blue-chip event brings together world-class speakers, academic thinkers and leaders from the employers chosen for this year's Canada's Top 100 Employers project. Previous keynote speakers at the event include: President Bill Clinton, Ashley Judd, Hillary Clinton, Sidney Poitier, Mia Farrow, Muhammad Yunus, Al Gore and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
